
My old refrigerator retired this weekend. After 15 years of great service we decided that it was time to replace it with a newer, better model. Though the new refrigerator is much like the old one in both look and features, I was excited at the prospect of having a new toy in the kitchen. When work makes no demands on my time, Thursdays end up being my free days. Not free in the sense that I have no responsibilities. Rather, they are spent on chores that have accumulated during the week, exercise that has been neglected and of course, cooking. But my time is my own and I am free to prioritize in the way that I wish.

You may have noticed that I don’t share many breakfast recipes here. My life’s pace is in overdrive mode. Normally, I thrive on being busy, enjoying the “doing” rather than having too much time for contemplating. But I’ve been finding myself having to catch up on most things lately and to be honest, I don’t like this feeling.
